Funded in large part by the Dare County Tourism Board, Chicamacomico was able to purchase the property adjacent to the 1911 Station so as to insure that it remain undeveloped unless and until our organization can determine a use consistent with our mission (to preserve this site and the stories of the men who served in the LSS and early CG along our coast).
Joining the Tourism Board were both the Meekins Charitable Trust and the Gaddy Family Endowment Fund (part of the North Carolina Community Foundation) in supporting this endeavor. Dixon & Dixon Law and Carl Worsley Associates (the seller) also assisted in the purchase.
We thank them and all our supporters now during this holiday season, in the past, and into the future.
