We are pleased to announce that the Midgett House is now open to visitors at the Chicamacomico Life Saving Station in Rodanthe. Thanks are due to Board Member Sandy Sanderson who assessed the damage and determined what needed to be done immediately so as to get the house open and safe for visitors. Thanks are also due to Board Member Mary Ann Cohen for insuring that debris from the lightning strike was removed. Site Manager Dinah Beveridge was instrumental is assisting with both tasks.

There is much work remaining to be done including a professional assessment/replacement of the chimney, permanent repair to the roof, finish carpentry and painting, as well as the replacement of window treatments and linens. Luckily Thanks to generous donations from Chicamacomico’s fabulous friends we will be able to meet those needs as we go forward.

So, come on down and see what we’ve been up to and visit us on Facebook.
