“The Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station is a wonderful historic site that gives tons of information about an overlooked group of men: the members of the US Life-Saving Services who risked their lives to rescue travelers in peril on the North Carolina Coast. Go and Learn about these brave men!!”

Great thing to do while at the Outer Banks. I learned a lot about the origins of the coast guard here plus magnificent rescues. The Tower was a great experience and will be remembered. Lots of information and hands-on exhibits in different buildings. Interesting to see the actual artifacts talked about in the museum located on the property.

The Rescue Reenactment team has been invited to conduct the reenactment at the Annual Meeting of the US Life-Saving Service Heritage Association in September at a restored station in Maine.

We need help raising funds for this specific endeavor. We will be accepting donations at our weekly reenactments and within our museum store. You can also send donations in the mail specifying “Maine” as the reason for the donation. Contact us for more information.
